I'm pretty sure stamp duty is a % of the purchase price, so if you saved 12% off the purchase price, then you would have saved 12% off the stamp duty as well.

    Smile TSI price

agree with others, much better negotiating position with a car in stock

we got a blue 125TSI, park assist, off road, towbar, with floor and boot matts for $37,000 on the road. Without the tow bar would have been closer to $35,500 on the road. Note this was negotiated on the basis of a fleet discount, which by their mistake they realised they couldn't do in the end, but they ended up doing it retail as close as they could get.

from South Yarra Volkswagen. They were very good to deal with.

VW Aust demand a fleet letter from the dealer to offer such a bigger discount so you must be lucky. I got my Tig from this dealer so you were lucky. They never offered a good warranty extension on a Golf mind you. Abbotsford service centre where your Tig was predelivered is awesome in size and they are friendly to deal with. I had a trim swapped over with no problems while I waited. Congrats also.

    good price on tdi's too

thanks guys, yes we were happy with the deal, was largely sorted out one saturday arvo over the phone!

I also have friends who bought some TDIs in northern NSW
$38 odd thou, for a white TDI manual, comfort pack and towball
$40 odd thou, for a silver TDI auto, with comfortpack

Cant remember if they got the off road or not, but thats only a $300 option anyway

They bought both at the same time, so a good start and bought in her name they were able to link to a deal for professional associations, but again they seem to have got an excellent deal by other prices I have seen here.

The options of course can push things up pretty quick and in all these cases we have gone for Tigs with only a few options and none of the really pricey ones.

Our blue was in the end a retail deal, so in my experience as a guide, if you go hard on one in stock they can do the Tigs at a bit less than their total list price (ie base list price plus any options) with no on roads. Things may have changed but that was my experience.

    cheers

    help with pricing

hey guys, just wondering what you think would be a realistic price on a new tiguan 125tsi? i have listed all the full cost prices so any help from anyone that got a similar model/extras would be great

    list $33990
    metallic paint $800
    sunroof $2000
    comfort pak $1000
    media interf $270
    stamp duty $1141
    =======
    $39201 + on road costs (i reckon $995 dealer delivery + 680 rego etc)

I have my own company so i may qualify for corporate pricing (would be the 5% disc level i think)

What do u think the best plan of attack is? hehehhe

    thanks guys

Rule of thumb, with Corp pricing, you should get about 10-15% off list drive away pricing. Look at the spreadsheet below.

see # 135 further up this thread, for price we paid on our 125 tsi

price will depend on whether ordered or whether dealing with something a dealer has in stock. Ours was in stock, so thats part of the reason we got a good deal.

check your price against ours re options etc (towbar on ours was around $1400) and that should give you a good idea.

You may well do even better as a corporate buyer.

Does the Fed gov 50% apply in your case?

You'll love the 125tsi, IMO, its the best one. It goes well as it is, and is good on fuel if driven economically, especially as the manual. The 125 has the added bonus that you can upgrade the power at 'minimal' cost. Check out the tuning threads if you would like more go, about 20 others have done already and we'll be doing the APR stage 1 upgrade on ours - lifts power and torque from 125kw and 280nm to 190kw and 400nm . Not only that but if you drive it economically most of the time, your fuel economy can improve too

Oh nice number. I am after a 125 TDI auto, leather, sunroof, mdi, comfort pack, metallic, alarm, tint, bluetooth, fogs. I am based in Melbourne. Any ideas of a good number. Oh I also want a 2010 build.
I have seen the spreadsheet but want to know who has had a good dealing with dealers in Melbourne.
