From what Derek told me, it's located up near the throttle pedal.
As I didn't do the installation personally, I can't confirm it's exact location though.

I'm not certain what version is required.
Derek at European Autotech did the coding.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Hiya,
Do you think if there might be any problems with RCD510 or RNS510 to be installed on GOLF MK 6?
Cheers
i wouldn't think so.

I think the RCD510 and RNS510 are both options on the MK6 platform.
If that's correct, in theory you should be able to unscrew the old unit and replace it with the new one.
I have not done this, so can't confirm 100% but it "should" be a plug and play swap.

Thanks man, I did not order this option on my MK6 as they are bloody expensive as an option. However, I will get one of them in the future on ebay or somewhere else by a lot cheaper price.
Hey guys,
I was able to do a VAG COM on my 07 Build - MY08 Golf GTI last night..I obtained the following result for my CAN BUS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 19: CAN Gateway Labels: 1K0-907-530.lbl
Part No SW: 1K0 907 530 L HW: 1K0 907 951
Component: J533 Gateway H07 0052

Coding: ED807F0E1002020003

Believe this means i have revision "L" and would be able to install a RCD510 with no power drain issues? Can anyone confirm this?
Cheers,
Hash
