    Tiguan servicing: people's experience?

Toyota dealers keep spruking to me about 'fixed price services through the entire warranty period' which includes 'all parts and labor'.
Subaru dealers seem to bend over them self's backwards to tell you about the service intervals and costs.

So what are people's real world experiences with Tiguan scheduled services (inc. the '90 day checkup' for those of you who were offered it)?
And what - if any - issues you've had?

Can't help here sorry. Only thing I managed was first 2 services included, but then first is probably the free checkup?

Toyota fixed price servicing doesn't look right to me, so you really don't want your VW mechanic or dealer to fix the price to the Toyota's $100 or $129 and neglect your car's maintenance. Unless you replace your car before the warranty runs out even in that case, should something fail during the manufacturer’s warranty due to the luck of maintenance they can look at your odometer and your car and say: The fixed price servicing is not in the fault it was your fault that you drive under the severe conditions and you should bring your car in for additional servicing to us more often.
If it’s only the once a year service you want that Tiguan serviced properly not on the dealer or workshop’s budget. Make sure that everything was done as per owner’s manual that includes section “driving under severe conditions”.
I would expect to pay a little bit more than for the Golf or less than for the Touareg.
I hope that it helps a bit with your question.

Yes, Transporter, it does sort of answer my question. Thanks.

Agree with all your points. I don't want that fixed price service b/s to stand in the way of my mechanic doing a good job, but I AM keen to know what people are paying for their Tiguan service.

Are there any other Tiguan drivers out there who also have a Golf and can compare the service costs?

    Thumbs up

I had a very pleasant surprise from Chatswood Classic Cars in Artarmon when I got my Tig's 15000km sevcie done there. When I dropped it off they quoted me $440 for the standard service.

I discussed what I had been doing to maintain the vehicle with Scott, the service delivery guy, and mentioned I had been rotating the tyres every 5000km's. He took note of it along with a few of the other things I had mentioned. When it came time to settle for the service he said that they hadn't rotated my tyres because I had already been doing so and the wear was pretty even all round. There was also no need to do realignment so the service was $50 less!

In this day and age I didn't think this happened anymore. Good on Chatswood Classic (and Scott) for the honesty and good customer service.

Here you go. Can't vouch for the accuracy but they I imagine they are close.

Seriously, how do they justify $1,300 for this? It's outrageous.

Quotes I got from dealers were all around 350-400 for the 15k and same for most of the rest, odd one up to 900-1000, but cant remember details now.

I will be getting my car serviced with jimmy mac (who's on here). Jimmy is very experienced and is much more reasonable with his pricing

Just got a quote from a Melbourne dealership for 30K service - $650... Does that sound a bit exe, or about right?

Have decided to go with a dealership to get the 2 minor rattles looked at (B-pillar & wastegate), at the same time.

    Thanks for any ideas.
