    Tiguan - after market sound

Acknowleging this topic has come up a few times over the past year, I'm hunting opinions of people who have actually trialed / are using aftermarket sound systems. Please note for cost and percieved value reasons I'm only interested in aftermarket. I'm aware of the factory options and have decided against them - ie please don't make this into discussion about the merits of the factory vrs aftermarket sound.

I've seen the following options in this / other forums:

    1. AVC9000-1 - ? approx AUD $500-600 however appears to have too much uncertainty over compatability and battery issues. Very reluctant to try this one, particularly given the local expert appears to have gone out of buisness.

    2. AVIC F9110-BT - I've seen from AUD $750-$1000 for this unit.

    3. touring 7006 nissan[/B]: (http://www.vms4x4.com/product-in_das...ng_7006_nissan), VMS Touring 500 GPS with Street + iTopo Nav +Dual Cam Kit = AUD$1,389, not sure about connectivity or integration with Tiguan.

    4. KENWOOD DNX6160 DVD - Approx $700 - $900.

Appears for at least 2 and 4, you can get full functionality through the control column by using two adaptors: approx AUD$100

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/8653.html (specific to model). Not to sure about option 3.

    Therefore looking for:
    a. Any experience installing the above in Tiguans.
    b. Any recommendations for installers in Sydney.
    c. Best places to source units.

    Cheers,

    Andy.

Waywell and Zenec also do a unit that fits the Tiguan, just so you know.

I don't have any experience with these though and there is no support in australia that i am aware of.

I believe that the Waywell is the same unit as the 9000-1, at a minimum it's also Chinese made?

Had a search for the Zenec ZE-NC2010 however it has a few bad write ups on Canadian Tig sites?

Thanks for the installation guide. Exactly what I was looking for.

    Regarding the Zenec ZE-NC2010

Only had a quick initial look - hard to find too much on them actually:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4805797 - general comments from dealer

http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Communi...?topic-id=6917 - ? long boot time and problems picking up satelites & issues with microphone.

Does anyone have any experience with these units? I can't find any sold in Aus, can they be configured with our maps / radio channels? Additionally, don't know if they're plug and play with the tiguan - apparently they are with the golf - obviously all of this is just what I've seen on the net though.

I started the first thread on vortex and still got no response.
I asked what sort of issues and no one could tell me so at the moment it's all hear say.
Apparently it works well with other models such as teh golf mk5 which it works in.

The second thread i have read as well.
It is a direct fit for the RCD310/510/RNS510 and as such will be a plug and play replacement.
It was designed to have an OEM look and ease of installation.

From memory they are made in europe somewhere (Switzerland or Germany i believe) and can be updated vua their iGo8 maps software.
I haven't been able to find a supplier apart from the ones on ebay but i would be a bit wary as it is a lot of money and none of them are from english speaking countries.

Thanks for the info though, and i will let you know if i manage to find a place that sells them.

AVC9000-1 is probably the easiest/cheapest/quickest option though.
