    "S" on the auto tig

    Hi guys,
the "S" on the automatic - I take it that stands for "sports" mode or something.
Do any of you guys use this ? When would you use it ? Would you leave it constantly on "S" ?

    Thanks

Yeah, I think it's for Sports.

I never use it from a standing start as it selects 1st which is too low a ratio on paved roads. I often slip it into S when going through twistie roads and uphills as it kicks down a gear sooner to help maintaining speed.

I concur that is stands for "sport".

I don't leave my 147 in S much.... but as mentioned above...
when I want a put more power (even though my 147TSI is great)... then S mode seems to hold the lower gear longer than D.

So up and down mountains and twisty corners (when I went through the Escarpment into and out of Kangaroo Valley the other week... I put it into S when I wasn't stuck behind other drivers.
