I think the model shops should have Mk3s in stock mate.
I have a few mk3s in my collection, not sure what brand.
    Try www.biante.com.au
I am subscribed to them and recieve weekly emails with specials. Bought a great 1:18th Porsche 917 last week.

I think I have trawled there before (and lots of other places). I have a Mk3 GTI plastic model kit already, it was supposed to be the VR6 kit but they got the wrong one, still it's something. Mind you I will most likely never get round to building it... the Karmann Ghia I started 5 years ago isn't quite finished yet

I should get down to the local place and get them to order me the minichamps one. Funny that I haven't even seen a matchbox Mk3 or one of the other cheapie brand ones on eBay

They were in the Polo section. The MkVs are 5-door models and different colours (black, red, silver & blue). GTIs in 3-door.

    SILVER "POLO"

    GOLF V GTI
    gti1.jpg

here is the Golf V GTI from the (funnily enough) 'Golf' section vs the so called "Polo". the body shape and lines look exactly the same

i'm sure however, if you ordered a Polo you would be sent a Polo. if VW sent you a Golf instead of a Polo you'd be questioning their knowledge .

Actually, Rhys ... I think the silver 'Polo' looks a bit 'stockier' than the golf ... bit more depth to the windows.
