Thread: VW Wolfsburg Germany

Hi people,

I would like to share some pics of my stay in Wolfsburg Germany whilst visiting Autostadt.(3rd time) <www.autostadt.de> Wolfsburg is where the original VW plant is located. The city of Wolfsburg is swamped with VW’s old and new. Car parks, streets and the like, you see hardly any other car brand but VW’s. VW employ close to 45000 people I was told while doing the factory tour. I also visited the twin car towers where new vehicles are stored awaiting collection by their new owners onsite. The tour of the towers was also interesting. They take you up in a glass enclosure and put you up there just as if they stored a new vehicle. Also came across the 60th million Golf in the museum. Whilst in Autostadt I also bought some goodies for my current VW Golf 2.0 TDi Pacific. Just love DAS AUTO!

BTW correction, 60 Million Veedubs built which happens to be a Golf although I believe VW manufactured more than 25 million of the Golf model.

im hoping we'll get there next year in may but after worthersee, merc, bmw and porsche i think it might be pushing our luck
