It might not be VAG, but I bet it goes like a calded cat I know I wouldn't mind a bash behind the wheel next time I'm in QLD

Hi All,
Well I know a lot of you were quite interested to know what my next car was going to be after the unexpected tragedy that was the loss of my R32. Well as some might have seen in my signature for a while, my new ride was ordered and then on a boat and then pending delivery. Well now it's here and I think a lot of you are going to be shocked.
I've gone and bought a new Renault Clio RenaultSport 200 Cup 20th Anniversary Edition. Renault have only brought 30 of the 20th Anniversaries into the country, each individually numbered and I've got number 19.
I know a lot of you won't probably get it but hey if you've got nothing nice to say, then don't say nothing.
Anyway enough words more pictures. See below.
Cheers,
Trent

Cheers guys. The white is exclusive to the 20th Anniversary Edition and is a pearl. Under lights it pops right out at you with blues and purples, it's fantastic. You may not also be able to tell but it also has gloss black painted roof, spoiler, rear diffuser, front bar and matte black alloys (extra fantastic). The front splitter, side mirrors, door handles and brake extractor vents are finished in anthracite/silver (also fantastic).
I'm still in the process of running it in (I've only done 550kms so far) and I'm yet to exceed 4500rpm but it's still good fun "low down" the rev range. Can't wait until it's properly run in so I can utilise the full 7500rpm and 147.5kw (yes apparently rounding down is selling it short and rounding up is cheating).
For those that are wondering, I'm still planning on playing an active role in the forum and will most definitely be coming on cruises, get togethers etc. Just because I didn't buy a VAG car doesn't mean I'm still not a fan or I'm just going to dump and run.
Will use this thread as a bit of a log as well similar to what I did with the R32 (I saw a stock black one yesterday in need of some good TLC [sigh]).
Cheers,
Trent

Congrats on the new ride Trent!! Looks unreal!!
Oh don't worry, unfortunately I'll still be just as OCD about it as I was with the .:R.
In comparison to the R32, it's similar yet totally different. Whereas the R32 is a bit of a beast even when you're pootling along, the Clio is just almost as easy as my GF's 323 SP20 at parking/slow speeds. The engine is eager to rev and the steering and feedback is on another planet. The suspension is firm but compliant and surprisingly more forgiving and better than the setup I had in the R32.
The Recaro buckets aren't as plush and luxurious as the Koenigs but they're even more supportive. The steering wheel is just as fat and the gear change is almost as short as the HPA 40% shifter reduction I had. The exhaust and intake note will never match a stock R let alone my APR/Billy Boat setup but it's still got a great little rorty note (better than a GTI or similar). At cruising speeds it's nice and quite though.
It has a lot of nice mod cons which I wanted on the R such as keyless entry and go, auto folding heated mirrors, Bluetooth with voice dialling, mpe cd player, iPod/USB/3.5mm/Bluetooth music playback, and an even more detailed trip computer. Climate control is also standard.
Downsides, the speakers themselves though are average at best. I'm going to miss heated seats. It also has pretty rubbish cup holders. I also need to get myself a driver's side grab handle and a LHD sun visor for the passenger side that has mirror cover.
But overall though I'm absolutely chuffed. I think I've used the word a few times but it's fantastic.
Cheers,
Trent
