What Accessories are you buying for your MK6 Golf?

I've been thinking of late that with the rise in the Australian $, that I may take advantage of this situation and purchase a few non performance modifications for my pending MkVI Golf. So I thought I would ask if others are doing the same, what accessories are you buying, and where from?

Personally I'm starting up a bit of a list from ECS including locking wheel nuts, and have just purchased replacement LED lights for the footwells, trunk, glovebox (yes I know thats just getting ridiculous, but hey) and licence plate as well as some Tow Hooks from Racing Dash Enterprise's.
United Grey R: All the accessories (leather, not Recaro's though), S2P paddles, Kuftech DVD in motion. Carbon grill, mirrors and diffuser awaiting to be fitted.

At the request of several members, I have spent over an hour deleting posts and editing posts in this thread to clean it up so it can be resurrected and unlocked.

How long it stays unlocked is entirely up to you guys. If the discussion ends up like it did previously we will come down on you hard with infractions and possible time off depending on the infractions.

If you post here, you agree to these rules:
*You will not receive a warning, so make sure you've and understand them.

*DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT PRICING OF LOCAL Products/Resellers/Distributors/Companies. Even if the product is double the cost in Australia than it is in the USA! So was the Volkswagen you just bought! Deal with it!
Or, if you think that you can do better, then get off the interwebs and do something! Anyone who complains will receive an infraction of such magnitude that you'll have enough of a break from this site to get a good start on setting up your own business.
In the end, there is no company that makes a product for which there is no competitor. If you don't want to spend what one company is asking for their product, then purchase from the competitor(s). If one companies products cost more without any reason, then the market will sort itself out - that's how a competitive market works.

*DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PRICE OF INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. If you don't like the costs of the courier options, check the mail options. If you still don't like it, then move to the USA/UK/Europe and/or start your own courier company. Just like above, if you think you know better, then do something about it.
*This is not the place to ask someone to do a group buy and then for 10 more people to come along and say +1. If you want a group buy on a product and there isn't one in progress, then go and organise it. If the product isn't exciting enough for you to be bothered, then no one else would probably be bothered either.
*This is not the place to complain about issues with your car. There are already multiple threads for that.
*If you want more information on an accessory, and there is a dedicated thread for it, please go to the dedicated thread.
*Do not post just to tell us that "your x device has arrived". No one cares. Unless of course you're going to post pictures/installation instructions/feedback on the quality and usage of the product.
*Do not start in-depth discussions about warranty. Look up the well documented warranty impacts elsewhere.
*Do not ridicule people for their purchases. Other people probably think your purchases suck too.
*Do not give your opinion on a product unless you actually have tried the product.
*Do not joke about corporate espionage.
*Do not claim to know the reason the internet was created.
*Do not claim to be a financial wizard. There is no place for anything financial in this thread.
*Do not talk about which way you drive home from the dealership.
*Do not talk about Google Maps.

There is also a few disclaimers:
*Posting prices for items is fine, but keep in mind that these will change over time.
*Product specs may change during their lifetime
*It is your responsibility to ensure any items you purchase after following links/info from this thread is about applicable to your car and any effects the item may have on your car.
*Similarly to the above, make sure you investigate and understand what exactly is included in the purchase of your product. It's not always just a physical item. When comparing two products, make sure the scope of what is included in the price is the same.

*And finally, just like above, it is your responsibility to install the accessories or arrange, and probably pay, for someone to install it for you. Which gets me to the next section...

If you purchase parts from other sources, your dealer and other companies may or may not chose to install it. This shouldn't be a surprise, it's not just the automotive industry where this occurs and should be understandable to people why:
*There is a certain profit margin in the goods which is lost if the customer supplies them
*With so many part numbers for seemingly the same item, variations of the same item, and regional versions, and "copies" of items available, a company can only ensure they're receiving what is expected if they procure it themsevles through official channels
*This procurement through official channels also ensures all the "additional" parts are included (installation parts such as screws, facias etc etc), manuals, DVDs whatever is relevant etc
*They cannot cover the warranty on an item that they do not acquire (obviously)
*But where the above causes issues is when things don't "work" during the installation. This can cause a grey area or issue. Is it the part, is it the installation? etc

In other word, please keep in mind that dealers and VW specialists will have, and are entitiled to, their own policies about what they will and won't install if a customer acquires their products from a 3rd party. So if you are purchasing something but need someone else to install it for you, please confirm that your dealer or local VW specialist will do this work before purchasing the parts to avoid any upset!

If you do not agree, or do not understand, or cannot be bothered reading the above and agreeing to the rules, THEN DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD.

If you've read the above and are ready to post, then you should know I rather like the idea of this thread and I was a bit surprised when no one replied to it in the 1st incarnation and then upset when it was trashed in the 2nd incarnation.

There have been threads in the past relating to specific accessories (Stickers, DSG paddles, LED lights, etc etc), and the intent of this thread is not really to get into indepth discussion about any specific accessory, but simply to list some of the accessories that you have been looking at for your MK6 Golf, that you've already bought and fitted to your MK6 Golf, and maybe even where you've bought them from and your thoughts on the product!

So I'll get this going by first listing some resources of where to get accessories and information on them!

Accessories sources in no particular order:

I got the names from this list from quickly looking through the previous "accessories" threads in this forum and therefore this is by no means an endorsement by me or anyone else. Please feel free to contribute more!

    Now to start it off:
For my Golf R which will (hopefully) arrive within the next two months, I've purchased:
A OSIR Design RHD Footrest cover and a pair of Black S2TPP DSG Paddles
I've also purchased a Ross Tech HEX-USB+CAN Interface for use with VCDS/VAG-COMand I'm planning to purchase a set of Lakin Number Plate Brackets and Covers

What Accessories have you guys bought or planning to buy?

A slight tangent to this... but the Polish eBay guy (you know the one) often lists in USD for the same products that are in GBP or EURO. I think I saved more than $50 by buying the 9W7 kit that way through him.

    As for bits I'm buying/bought:

    S2TPP shifters (fitted - awesome)
    RVC
    9W7 BT kit

To add to Coreying's, items purchased for my GTI.

    1. R LEDs (again ~wink~ to Coreying).
    2. S/s GTI footrest pedal (not OSIR). Moments ago (just) bought a nice thin piece of rubber to fill the cutouts/holes.
    3. Aluminium door sill scuff plates (over the grey/black plastic bit next to the rubber not over the painted metal part of the car sill) - WARNING note for all MK6 GTI (3-door) owners intending on purchasing these. I have not come across one that fits PERFECTLY over the sill. Most that advertise 'fits MK5 and MK6' are incorrect because the sill of the GTI 3-door is wider at the front end and tapers (narrower) towards the rear, so they will not fit/cover perfectly. I assume that the MK5 may have been straight hence the sellers misinterpretation/misleading description. In other words if you see in the pictures of it being straight (all lines parallel) it will not sit well. Just returned mine for a full refund.
    4. Thinking of/looking at boot sills/protection. Might just go with a Duco scratch transparent tape.

Further down the track mods/accessories (hopefully).
    1. APR Stage 1 + VWR air filter + cat back exhaust.

Pretty happy with the rest of the car really (personally).

Nice thread. This is what I have in mind, just need to make sure it will all work on the car.

New 19" wheels from OZ Racing.
    R LED taillights
LED headlights from Dectane (Need info to see if this will just be a direct swap or do I need to code anything)
RNS510 from eBay for about half the price that you get it at a dealer with the new 9W7 bluetooth kit?

Depending on what the wheels look like standard I might lower it but I have no plans.

APR ECU and exchaust upgrade is on the cards for Feb 2011.

I think I will leave it at that.

So far, I am planning to grab the APR Stage 1 tune, hopefully I'll get an RVC cheap off ebay and install, and then next plan is to get a Black Euro Plate for the R

I can't think of much else. After taking the exhaust off my clio and loving the stock note and induction sound, I can honestly say, I don't think I would have one again!

Danny just reminded me of another accessory fitted to my car (well kinda), my slim line plates white on black. Initially was thinking of the Lakin plates as some suggested on another thread but once the dealer fixed mine on to the car, looking at it, I had no issues with the the two holes (half covered) on the side of the plates.
