More Engines and Further Features for Volkswagen Amarok MY12

 

With the arrival of the new model year 2012, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is introducing more engines and standard features to its award winning Amarok ute range. 

Two new engine options are now available for the two-wheel drive entry Amarok model. The first is a new diesel, the TDI340 which develops 103 kW and, as the name suggests, 340 Nm of torque from 1750 to 2250 rpm. The TDI340 is the most economical model in the range requiring just 7.4-litres per 100 km – ADR 81/02 combined cycle.

The second is a new petrol engine, the 2.0-litre TSI300 which delivers maximum power of 118 kW between 3800 to 5500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque from just 1600 rpm.  As a single-charged TSI engine, the TSI300 delivers excellent throttle response from low rpm and very competitive fuel consumption.  Compared with its rivals, the TSI300 delivers exceptional performance and economy with the TSI300 using just 9.6-litres per 100 km on the combined cycle.

Both the TSI300 and TDI340 Amaroks come with an efficient six-speed manual transmission and can be ordered with either the heavy duty or comfort suspension. Both entry and Trendline Amarok can also be ordered as a Cab Chassis set-up. The Amarok Cab Chassis opens up an opportunity for greater personalisation of the vehicle which is especially useful for rural and fleet customers.

In addition to the two new engine models, the Amarok range also receives further standard features as part of the model year change.  A multifunction steering wheel is now standard on Amarok Highline and Ultimate models and will be available as an option on entry Amarok and Amarok Trendline. Furthermore, heated seats are now standard for Amarok Ultimate and all models now come with daytime running lights as standard.

Pricing for Amarok TDI340 Dual Cab Chassis with six-speed manual transmission starts at $29,990*, while the Amarok TSI300 Dual Cab Chassis with six-speed manual transmission starts at $30,590*.
