Hanover, 30 November 2011 – The new Multivan Business is the latest top-of-the-range model in the Multivan series. The Business takes the Highline equipment package as its basis and is synonymous with superior comfort for business travellers. The rear compartment provides an unrivalled and exclusive mobile environment, with a total of six seats that are perfect for travelling in luxury.
The spacious interior of the Multivan Business is dominated by authentic wooden surfaces and Nappa leather seats, and is accentuated by striking wooden inlays. Two Pullman seats with integrated three-point belts in the third row ensure a luxurious atmosphere and a high level of safety in the rear compartment. The individual seats in the rear are equipped with heating and can be adjusted electrically to allow passengers to travel in maximum comfort. An integrated cool box keeps drinks and snacks fresh for the journey, while the remote-controlled auxiliary heating can be used to heat the interior to the required temperature. The sliding multifunction table is practical to use and can be slotted between the seats in the second row to save space.
The Multivan Business is equipped with wireless internet, enabling passengers to keep up to speed with important correspondence and information on the move. The Digital Voice Enhancement system (DVE) facilitates free and easy communication between vehicle occupants by boosting the volume of their voices automatically via the vehicle speakers.
The Dynaudio sound system is tailored to the Multivan’s interior for high-quality listening enjoyment, and a multimedia socket for iPods and iPhones is also available. A rear-seat entertainment system consisting of a DVD player with 10-inch monitor that can be folded down from the roof lining is available as an optional extra.
Drivers can look forward to a host of standard features that would normally come as extras, such as the RNS 510 radio navigation system, a multifunction steering wheel, the ParkPilot parking assistance system with reversing camera, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, a mobile telephone system, lane change assistant and tyre monitor display.
Passive occupant protection systems include side and curtain airbags in the front, and curtain airbags in the rear.
Privacy glazing to ward off curious glances, two electric sliding doors and 17-inch alloy wheels underline the flamboyant character of the Multivan Business, while maintaining its understated air of discreet elegance. Bi-Xenon headlights provide perfect illumination of the road ahead.
Drive comes from two powerful TDI engines (103 kW / 140 PS and 132 kW / 180 PS) or the mighty 150 kW / 204 PS TSI engine. All engines can be combined with the 7-speed DSG gearbox and 4MOTION four-wheel drive, which is electronically controlled.
Prices for the Multivan Business 2.0 TDI (103 kW) start at €67,595 (net). The Multivan Business can be further customised by installing a Business Unit from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
